Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what AI Stream Online does with personal data, why, on what legal basis, how long it is kept, and the rights you have. It follows Articles 13 and 14 of the GDPR.
1. Who is responsible
AI Stream Online (aistreamonline.com) is run from Italy by its owner, who is the data controller for the processing described here. Contact for any privacy question or request: contact@aistreamonline.com. There is no Data Protection Officer: the site does not carry out large-scale monitoring or process special categories of data.
2. What we process, why, and on what basis
Analytics (Google Analytics 4) — only with your consent. Nothing from Google loads until you press Accept on the cookie banner. With consent we receive pages viewed, approximate location at country/region level (IP addresses are anonymised), device and browser type, and the referring site. Purpose: understanding which content is useful. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) and, for the cookies themselves, Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code. Retention: the period set in our Google Analytics account, 14 months by default, after which Google deletes the underlying user-level data.
Advertising measurement (Google Ads) — only with your consent. Lets us see whether an ad brought a visitor. Google may set its own cookies for this. We do not use it to personalise ads or build remarketing audiences. Legal basis: consent. Retention: as set by Google for conversion data.
Audience counting without cookies (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights). This runs for every visitor. It sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device; Vercel derives a short-lived hash from the request to avoid double-counting, and we only ever see aggregate numbers. Purpose: knowing how many people read the site and how fast pages load. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring and maintaining the site (Art. 6(1)(f)); because nothing is stored on your device and no profile is built, this does not require consent. Retention: held by Vercel for the period of our plan; we keep no copy.
Server logs. Our host, Vercel, records requests (IP address, time, page, user agent) as part of running and protecting the service. Legal basis: legitimate interest in security and availability. Retention: Vercel's own log retention; we do not export or analyse these logs.
Newsletter. If you submit the form we store your email address. It is sent to Kit (kit.com, operated by ConvertKit LLC in the United States), the email service that stores the list and sends our emails; addresses collected before October 2026 were kept in a Google Sheet that only the site owner can read. Purpose: sending you the free AI tools guide, the AI Brief and site updates. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Retention: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Giving your email is entirely optional; nothing on the site is gated behind it.
Reader poll. Votes are stored as counts per story. We do not store your individual vote, and nothing links a vote to you. To stop scripts inflating the counts, the server counts requests per IP address for 60 seconds and then discards that counter; the vote totals themselves are kept for about 40 days. Legal basis: legitimate interest in showing reader sentiment and preventing abuse.
Your cookie choice. Stored in your browser's local storage so the banner does not reappear. This entry is strictly necessary and needs no consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page; withdrawing also deletes the Google Analytics cookies this site set.
3. Services your browser contacts
Some parts of the page are loaded from other companies. When that happens, your browser sends them your IP address, the page address and your user agent, which they process under their own privacy policies.
Always: our host Vercel; the TradingView widget for the stock ticker (it sets no cookies); the publishers' own servers, which supply the preview image on each news card; and Amazon, which supplies the book covers on the reading list. The two typefaces and the one animation library are served from this site, so they involve no other company.
Only when you act: the YouTube player from youtube-nocookie.com, which loads when you press play (until then only the thumbnail is fetched from i.ytimg.com); Hacker News search, run by Algolia, when the Live Pulse section is on screen; and the Bluesky public post stream, only after you press "Go Live", which stops itself after two minutes.
4. Transfers outside the EEA
Google, Vercel, Cloudflare, Algolia, TradingView and Amazon are based in or transfer data to the United States. Those transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified under it, and otherwise on the Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for details of the safeguards that apply to a specific service.
5. Affiliate and outbound links
Some links to third-party AI tools or platforms are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you sign up or buy through them, at no extra cost to you. AI Stream Online is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Clicking such a link takes you to that company, which then processes your data under its own policy. We do not receive your personal data from them, only aggregate reports.
6. Who else sees your data
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for other companies' marketing. The only recipients are the service providers named above, acting as processors or as independent controllers for their own service, and any authority we are legally required to answer.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time — through the Cookie settings link for analytics, or the unsubscribe link for the newsletter — without affecting what was lawful before. Write to contact@aistreamonline.com and we will answer within one month.
If you believe your data is being handled improperly, you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
8. Automated decisions
The site uses AI to write news summaries and the daily brief, and computes scores such as the AI Trends Index. None of this profiles you or makes decisions about you: it processes news articles and public statistics, not visitors.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top always shows the current version; material changes will also be announced on the site.
11. Contact
Questions, requests or complaints: contact@aistreamonline.com.
