AI Agents Face a Trust Problem
Major banks like Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan are blocking AI agents from logging into customer accounts with saved credentials. Separately, researchers found an offensive AI agent that hijacks unprotected language models. It uses them to launch cyberattacks, steal data, and run cryptominers. Chinese hackers also used AI agents to quickly breach thousands of companies through IT firm ConnectWise. A smart robot charm called Eiliko had security flaws that exposed user data. That pushed its maker to hire outside security auditors. In response to these risks, password manager 1Password built a tool. It lets AI agents use passwords without ever seeing them.
